A Smoke Detector really should go on the ceiling. So I guess double-sided-tape would be your alternative. Same goes for your Carbon Monoxide Detector, you asked about in the other section.

As far as I can tell from the press release, only the main Weather Station with its Outdoor Module got redesigned. All accessories (Additional Module, Rain Gauge, Wind Gauge, Shield) stay the same.
