Rain gauge does not show green LED

cwp654

I am trying to reinstall my rain gauge but when I insert the batteries, the little green LED on the unit never turns on.  I have tried 2 sets of fresh batteries so far.  The installation never occurs as the base unit can never "find" the rain gauge.  Any suggestions?  Craig

    My issue too.
Has there been some kind of firmware update?

I’m having the same problem with indoor and outdoor module. Where can we go to get help? Why is this happening?

Same problem. My rain gauge has worked perfectly until now. I do not see the green led light flash when I add the new batteries.

Same story here. No green light and base unit can't see the rain gauge. 3 Netatmo devices has now died on me over the past few years (outdoor, wind and now rain). Not impressed with the quality considering the price

Same Problem here, after each battery replacement I have to install the drain gauge as a new device. Very annoying. What does the support?

P.S. After 3 or 4 Retries the green LED is to see and it is connected as a new device with the standard procedure. Why and how can we avoid this?

Last Fall I brought my rain and wind gauges indoors and removed the batteries and stored the units in a warm and dry space.  My problems began when I tried to re-install the units this Spring.  The rain gauge finally connected although the wind gauge never did and I sent it to be recycled.  No more wind gauge for me.  Learning - to eliminate the need to re-install the rain gauge, do NOT disconnect rain gauge over winter even if I bring it indoors.  Overall most of my modules have been good for several years, this is the first time I have had problems. Good luck and be persistent.

Same problem here. I have 2 rain gauges and an outdoor module I can't connect. 2nd rain gauge lasted 5 months. For the price of these products it's terrible quality.

I've logged a ticket with netatmo for help on this, so far no luck , they just tell me what the online videos tell me to do but the problem I have is none of my three devices are flashing green (even from a dark room). I feel like they think it's just me but I've sent them this forum link. To show others are also having issues. If I manage to get it resolved I'll share the fix but I'm not holding out too much hope..

I found that different battery types are related to this problem. For me, one type gave no green flashing light, for another type it worked. I can't recall now the specifics of the two types though.

I had same problem. Green LED doesn't blink after replacing new batteries. I've been investigating that problem. After connecting wind gauge to laboratory power source ,I can see green led blinking ( led is part of that magnetic sensor on board ). It also blinks everytime you manually toggle that toggle mechanism. I come to know , something is wrong with batteries. Look at battery cover . You can see, that hole in gummy seal is enough for plus battery, but that hole is not enough for minus pole of battery. I just cut little bit of that seal on minus pole and it starts working. I thing , that after few years that gummy seal is more hard than soft when it was new , and minus battery pole is not touching that stainless steel plate anymore. I can't upload images. So I hope you understand what I want to say.

The exact same issue happened to me. I replaced the batteries with the exact same type and tested them with a multimeter to ensure they were working. However, the green light still doesn’t flash, and the unit won’t connect anymore. It’s really frustrating, especially since the unit is only about 16 months old.

I'm also having problems installing the rain gauge. I follow the instructions, get a green flashing light on the gauge but it doesn't connect. I've tried changing the batteries, uninstalling the app. Nada.

Similar problems here but it is worth cleaning contacts as when I did this I managed to get the outside sensor to work ,you could see that the contacts at the far end of the battery holder were tarnished. Connected ok after cleaning , the rain gauge has been more problematic , cleaned contacts even though they did not look tarnished and got the green LED flashing but not connecting to base station , the green light flashes when you more the rocker so not sure what to do next
