Reconnect, fail firmware download again and again

Hi, 

After having changed my Wifi network i am unable to reconnect my Wheather station. I have tried to follow the guide, but everytime i get connected from my iphone (Using bluetooth initially), the app looks for firmware updates to the wheather station and then start to download new firmware. The firmware download fails after 1-2 mins. Have tried with different phones and different wifi connections, same result. Fails in firmware download from the phone? What am i doing wrong?

    My guess would be the 2.4 vs 5 ghz issue, most smarthome devices don't like 5ghz, try and reconfigure your router to separate the bands out instead of bundling them together.

    Thanks SteeveB. 

    I tried seperating the 2.4GHz and 5 GHz on the router, and following this the firmware update passed ok and i have been able to reconnect my wheather station again. 

    Have been through this i must say, this is a complex installation requirement which i believe many normal users will not be able to succeed with. Have never tried having to seperate the frequency band to enable installing a simple user product. 

    I will think twice before buying a new NetAtmo product.

    I'm glad I could be of help.

     

    I agree that without knowing something like this would be an issue most people wouldn't even consider it. 

     

    I have not found this to be exclusive to netatmo though, I think a lot of smarthome products use the 2.4ghz band and experience issues like this.

     

    I still have a smart plug which refuses to connect to my new network, but it's not critical so it can wait!
