API simple use possible?

Hi all.

I have a lot of netatmo devices at home for temperature control.

I'm a software developer and I'd like to know if there's a way we can gather data from the system at home locally using any kind of API to be able to use the temperature data for my own purposes, like telling me when a temperature was reached on a room or whatever to be able to use that for my own notifications.

Is that possible? Where should I start?
