Smart Anemometer ultrasonic sensor waterproof membranes *perishing* after 3 years
I purchased and installed the Netatmo Full Weather Station Pack in November 2021. I have replaced the batteries in the Smart Anemometer approximately once per year.
Today is the 3rd time I replaced the batteries, but unlike previous visits, this time I noticed the unmistakable signs of the thin plastic membranes which cover the 4 ultrasonic emitters/sensors had perished, see attached photo.
The black sections of outside case have also become crazed/cracked, from UV damage (see attached).
Additionally, in hot weather, the Anemometer stops reporting real-time data. It eventually "catches up" when the environment cools down, which it uploads to the Netatmo Cloud, but 3rd-party apps accessing my data do NOT get 'caught up', they have a gap in the data.
Overall I'm quite unhappy with this piece of the Netatmo Weather Station.

The wind gauge is simply of a completely lousy quality, I have replaced one that was full of water in the battery compartment, got a new one under warranty. Recently changed the battery in the new one, also the one full of water in the battery box. But that is normal French quality I guess.
Mine is the same,
And to be honest, it's never given me an accurate reading, I did raise the issue with Netatmo when I got it,
But nothing ever got resolved.
I know it's inaccurate because I work at an aerodrome that's anemometer is 500m from mine and the readings are never even remotely similar, and mine is on a pole mounted higher than any other building around me
Mine is also the same.
Took it down after about one year to replace the batteries, and found the (bottom) plastic film coming loose.
Mine is now giving crazy readings over 35knots in light winds
I have the same problem. The plastic has completely deteriorated. They offer me a 10% discount on buying a new one.
I assumed that was a joke and decided not to accept. NO anemometer from Netatmo anymore.
