Unreliable spying device

The outdoor security camera has failed to connect for the last time. It's inconvenient because I have to climb a ladder and present a QR code to the lens. I can do this when I am home but as a security device it's impossible when I am not...and I am not home most of the time. 

During the latest re-boot procedure, in which I am compelled to set up the wifi again, the app demands more and more personal security information and this was the last straw. I need a reliable security camera for my home which doesn't need to know when I leave home and Netatmo isn't it. I am now in the market for a different brand.
