smart smoke alarm gives false alerts
Hello,
I own 4 Netatmo smart smoke alert systems for 4 years now. They're installed on 4 different locations in and around my house, all with stable wifi.
Last year, the one in the garden shed gave out of the blue smoke alarm. It was visible in the Netatmo app as well as in Apple Home. Although the garden shed was closed, we believed it could be due a neighbor who was making a fire in his garden. Case closed.
In our cellar, we have the same smoke alert. Last week the same issue with this one: false alert.
Because all of our electricity, gas etc. is in our cellar, I hurried home. Nothing, pfiew, but this behavior I can't accept.
Last winter, this cellar smoke alert is replaced in warranty because of a low battery after 4 years, so the new alert gave this false alert.
Is somebody familiar with this issues?
thanks!

I had the same issue twice
Did you find a solution?
No I haven’t, going to ask for a replacement / refund.
I have had the issue twice. 6 August 2024 and today, Fri 18 April 2025. I have just the one 'smart' fire detector. It is not 'smart' to trigger an alarm when there is no smoke or fire. There is also no dust or humidity. It is a highly distressing experience when it happens. No warning at all. I'm going to ask for a replacement.

In the meantime I had to replace my somewhat older Wifi Mesh system.
It could be coincidence, but since that time, I've never had false alerts.
The difference between the two routers is a much faster system. Maybe....
Thanks. My wi-fi is up-to-date. I have a an iPhone running on the latest software. No weak links. The weak link is the Netatmo 'smart' fire alarm.
