Thermostat not responding

The thermostat screen is showing a previous state but it's not updating in any way. At some point it came back, but then it entered this unresponsive state again. To clarify, nothing happens when I press the buttons, nothing happens when I change the orientation, nothing happens when I take out the batteries or when I put them back.

    My thermostat is not working at all. The screen went blank. Tried replacing but no luck. Now I do not have one. What should I do? We are using the app on our phones but need a thermostat. Thanks
