How to reset Netatmo Thermostat completely?

I cannot connect two thermostats to the relay, because they remember their old position (1 & 2) even when being without battery for a time. These numbers are now taken by other thermostats. How can I make them forget their old position? Complete reset of the thermostat?

    I'm assuming you mean thermostatic radiator valves here?

    When I'm in the "add product" mode on the mobile app, and it is searching for new valves: As soon as I turn on a valve with a remembered "old position" that then switches to a new number automatically, showing me the new number in the app to confirm.
