The heating is on even if the set temperature is lower than the actual

Hello,

I am experiencing significant in a building with 4 apartments, 4 Netatmo Smart Thermostats and 6 Netatmo Smart Valves per apartment (24 valves total, each thermostat controls 6 valves).

The problem relates to the fact that the thermostats turn the heating on even if the set temperature (7C) is above the actual measures temperature (say 9C a or 10C). At present the building in un-occupied and I am leaving the heating to 7C to prevent freezing. The temperature newer went below 8C (as measured both the Netatmo sensors and other sensors), and so the heating should be off. It is instead on al lot of the time. The problem seems to be worse in the living room of each unit, where there is the thermostat and two smart valves.

Please see graph attached below. I am receiving monthly bills of 200/300 euros even if the heating should be basically off.

Can you kindly provide advise, as this is becoming a serious problem?

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Andrea

I am having a similar problem where the heating is on even if the set point is less than the room temperature. I have three Netatmo thermostats but it only happens with one. If I press the button on the relay (the one that manually turns the boiler on and off) as it if to turn the boiler on (the light comes on) then press it again to turn the boiler off it solves the problem but only for three or four weeks and then the problem is back.

Same problem here. 7 valves with a modulating thermostat. When one valve is asking for heat, the other ones (with a set point less than the room temp) are not closed to prevent heating. So they're heating those rooms further when it isn't needed.

With the old Netatmo Energy app and a regular thermostat this function worked flawlessly.

@Netatmo: please react to the issues raised by your customers. This one has been open for 21 days!!

    Did you find a solution?

    Hello all,

Yes, I have found the solution: I have ditched Netatmo and rebuilt all the building heating control around SONOFF (SONOFF TRVZB ZigBee Thermostatic Radiator Valve) radiator valves, which are now $21, and Home Assistant (which is free). The valves are used in "dumb mode" and all the programming and control is done in Home Assistant, so I am in control of everything. You have to spend time setting everything up, but I couldn't be happier.

I cannot instead be more unsatisfied with Netamo: an expensive system with literally zero customer support. No one in months felt they needed to address the issues and/or give some feedback to the users. Also, they did not feel that it was worth collecting the user feedback / and actual data - which would be valuable to reproduce / fix the issue.

So glad that I ditched them, not happy for the wasted money.

I think I fixed mine. It’s been a while since I last had the problem so fingers crossed. I had an issue with my HomePod mini not working with Apple Music, in the end I fixed it by deleting my ‘home’ and setting it up again. As part of this I had to reconnect the netatmo thermost to my HomeKit - whilst doing this I found that, in the energy app, my thermostat had two relays listed under it. I deleted both and set it up again. No problems since. So, either deleting my ‘home’ or deleting the relays or both fixed it. I think…

Mine is not connected to HomeKit, so I can exclude this.
Only one relay in my app, but i can try to delete and reconfigure.
    Do you remember the procedure?
    Thanks

I think I pressed the name of the thermostat (above the temperatures), then selected netatmo relay from the ‘other products’, pressed the three dots and selected delete. I think it then asks you to set it up again. Hope this sorts you out.
