New Thermostat problem

My heating thermostat  'greyed out' and became unreadable so I've replaced it and connected both the thermostat and the relay but cannot connect them to  get my system up and running again. I have not touched the wiring since replacing it.

Originally I didn't have a relay which didn't connect to Apple Home - as you know the new ones do. I've tried several times to connect it but it fails with a fault code of OSStautus code -6764 (K CountErr)

 

Could you please let me know how I can fix this.
