No connection with VPN

Hello, have been using my weather station for years without any problems. Since I activated hide.me VPN on my iPhone, I get the message: no internet connection in the app. Unfortunately, the VPN cannot be deactivated for an individual app. Does anyone else have similar problems in connection with VPN?
