Problem with outdoor sensor - 0 degrees and 0% humidity

kuba

Hello!

The quality of the Netatmo station is slowly driving me crazy...it costs a lot, works poorly and wastes a lot of my time. But back to the point...

Yesterday I lost connection with the external sensor (there was no prompt, but I noticed it when checking the parameters). I thought it might be the battery's fault so I started replacing it. The sensor had eneloop (white) batteries. I charged it, put it in and what? The green diode on the bottom doesn't light up. I tried a thousand different ways - nothing. I read a moment ago on the forum that it might be the batteries' fault (1.2V vs. 1.5V standard batteries), although it worked on these batteries for a few months before.
I put in Duracell alkaline (1.5v) a moment ago and indeed - the diode started blinking, it seems that it connected to the main module. Unfortunately, it only shows pressure, temperature and humidity, it is "empty". Does this mean that the sensor is damaged? Was there a software update? It updates itself?

I'm pissed off, the equipment is expensive, and it only worked for about half a year. I read the forum and see that there are a lot of problems...

I don't know. I couldn't find any Netatmo repair service.

I bought a new one. But this is definitely my last attempt and the last chance I give Netatmo. Too expensive to replace in such a short time.

Stesso problema, il sensore esterno (h136056) non indica la temperatura, ma comunica con la stazione base in quanto posso vedere lo stato delle batterie. Ne ho acquistato uno nuovo e spero che funzioni, devo ancora installarlo.

I have the same problem with my outdoor module. I’ve re-paired the module successfully several times, but this hasn’t resolved the missing temperature and humidity issue.

Replacing the batteries also didn’t help fix the problem. Air pressure data is being received, but there is still no temperature or humidity.

For comparison, my TFA sensors are still working perfectly after 15 years, but this Netatmo device is not. Have I done something wrong? The module still looks like new and was purchased in 2017.

    Update:
I completely cleaned the outdoor sensor, but this didn’t help either.

Additionally, I unpaired the module and paired it with a completely different base station. However, this didn’t fix the issue. The temperature and humidity data are still not being reported by the outdoor module, even when connected to a different base station.

    Fixed:
An electronics specialist company re-soldered the 6 pins of the humidity and temperature sensor on the main board of the outdoor sensor, resolving the problem. It seems the contacts had corroded over time, likely due to weather exposure.

After the repair, the outdoor sensor must be re-paired with the base station. Without re-pairing, the controller seems unable to report the repaired sensor and its data.

Netatmo has made it really hard to open the outdoor module. I had to remake a tool that reached the screws. When open I soldered two suspicious spots (a small metallic cylinder in the middle of the circuit board) and just like that it's working again. I had nothing to lose because I had already ordered a replacement.
