Smart smoke alarm can't connect. to Wifi

Hey guys,

 

when I try installing my smoke alarms and the app comes to the point where I should connect to Wifi it shows my network, but with only a little dot for reception. All other networks have full reception. But my router is in the same room, so it can't really be the connection. When I try connecting, it fails and tells me that the last try to connect to wifi didn't work.

My router is a Fritz!Box 6850 5G and works perfect with all other devices. I also already tried activating only the 2.4 GHz network, but still no reach for the smoke alarms...

Does anyone here have an idea of what could cause the problem?

    Same issue.

    PS: The Wi-Fi signal level shown by the app seems to be inverted because it gets stronger for weaker and weaker networks. I checked with a Wi-Fi scanner.

    Hey eddy,

    interesting..and does yours only show a weak signal or is it also unable to connect? Can you do a alarm test via Bluetooth?

    Hi Christopher,

    I can perform an alarm test via Bluetooth but cannot connect anymore it to my Wi-Fi (was connected for years).

    Strangely, the app seems to present the Wi-Fi networks sorted by signal amplitude, with the strongest one at the top of the list, but the Wi-Fi icons show the inverse, with the smallest amplitude for the stronger signal. I have submitted a ticket.

    Problem solved after having replacing my Wi-Fi base station.
    I don’t think that it is related, but in parallel I had to replace the power supply of the Welcome camera which died.

    I tried resetting my router to factory settings and also didn't change my SSID. I tried resetting the detector and reinstalling, didn't work at first but then after 5 minutes or so I got the push message that the detector could connect to WiFi and it is still connected today. Maybe that helps.
