Heating stuck on

sanderson.roy

One day I noticed that the indoor temperature was very high and realised that the thermostat had not limited the system. I tried reducing the set point but it wouldn't swcih off. Eventually I closed the system down by powering off at the mains. After that it worked OK again.See below. If this happened when I was away I would have no means of switching off!

Did you have "heating prediction switched on? I'm suspicious that this was causing the issue. I've now switched mine off.

I am in touch with Netatmo who tell me that my thermostat needs repair. They have offered to do this but I have to send it to France and find another way of controlling the heating whilst it's away.

I'm holding back off this since it hasn't happened for the last 2 weeks, so I'm hoping that I can wait until summer to have it repaired.

Also did you have "heating prediction switched on? I'm suspicious that this was causing the issue. I've now switched mine off.

This first happened last Thursday 23rd Jan 25, so I turned off the heating prediction setting but unfortunately it has happened again yesterday. I have taken the batteries out of the unit and replaced with new ones. This doesn’t appear to have helped . Thermostat set to 18 but reading 23.5, radiators still full on , other than turning all the radiators off I’m not sure what else to do.

Try switching the heating system off at the mains, wait a few mins then switch back on again. If that doesn't work manually apply the OFF setpoint to the Thermostat by decreasing the set point. Wait 30 seconds, then apply the MAX setpoint. A "click" should be heard from the Thermostat (if used in wired mode) or from the Relay (wireless mode). Thank you, Sanderson.Roy that worked after a couple of attempts. Now house is normal temperature and not a sauna. Fingers crossed yours remains in working order. Thanks again.
