Constantly doing wifi connection test

raphael.lebouc
Sincèrement yesterday 2 of my devices repeat wifi test every 8 to 10 minutes. They received updates (v1.10.0) yesterday. The third one works on 1.0.4 with no issue. Please Netatmo, find a fix.

Same here, since the firmware update last Saturday the WiFi keeps being checked every ~10 minutes. Highly annoying

Exactly the same issue. Every nine minutes, my carbon monoxide alarm gives a wifi test notification on my iPhone. This was both the case on iOS 18 and now with iOS 26. I have the latest version of the Security app. The device has firmware version 1.10.0 (for which, by the way, no release notes are available [https://helpcenter.netatmo.com/hc/nl/articles/11622099099538-Slimme-Koolmonoxidemelder]).

A quick fix is highly appreciated, as this is extremely annoying.

Not only highly annoying but most likely draining the internal non-replaceable battery. Thus reducing the product lifespan.

It's quite hidden on their site but I made a support ticket, since I have the impression they don't read their forums all that much.

Same problem here. WLAN connection test every 8-10 minutes. Problem begins after firmware upgrade to version 1.10.0 on 15.09.2025.

Update – Issue resolved by reset & re-installation

    Hi everyone,
quick follow-up because several of us experienced the same problem (Smart CO Alarm with firmware 1.10.0 performing Wi-Fi connection tests every 8–10 minutes):

I contacted Netatmo Support and got these instructions from Magnus, which fixed the issue for me right away:

    1. Remove the device from the Netatmo app (and Apple Home if applicable)

      – In the app: tap the gear icon (bottom right) → Manage my home → select your device → tap the icon in the top right → Remove.

    2. Reset the CO Alarm

      – Make sure the switch is set to ON.

      – Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the device for 10 seconds.

      – A blue LED will confirm the reset.

    3. Re-install the CO Alarm in the Netatmo app.

After this, the alarm went back to its normal behavior: only one Wi-Fi connection test per month, not every 8 minutes.

Big thanks to Magnus from Netatmo Support for the quick and super-friendly help—saved me a lot of time and frustration!

    Cheers,
    Jens

Same issue with my carbon monoxide sensor on version 1.10.0.
I removed it from my devices (in the app), then reset it (button on the back of the unit), and added it back to the app. It seems to be working: no notifications for the past 30 minutes!

Thank you, Jens, for making the support request. And a shoutout to Magnus for offering a solution. Problem seems to be resolved after reset and reinstallation.

    Hi,
I have the same problem. But, before I could find a solution, it already tells me that my battery level is low. I have had the device for 3 years. In the Czech Republic, the warranty on the product is 2 years. How will Netatmo deal with this, if it is their fault that shortened the life of the product by 7 years?
After this experience, it depends on how Netatmo deals with it, I will also consider what to do with my other products, because my whole house is equipped with a thermostat and radiator heads, so I would not want to worry that they will gradually "liquidate" my other devices (and they are not exactly the cheapest).
