Use Smart AC Control with Smart Thermostat
Our winters are cold, our summers are hot. I recently replaced my old wall mounted thermostats by some Netatmo Smart Thermostats. This works well so far: Set a target temperature and wait for the room to heat up.
Okay, now i got new split-airconditioners with a remote control for each room. I want to get rid of the extra remote controls laying around somewhere in my room. So im planning to connect the ACs to the Netatmos Smart AC Control.
I read on multiple forums, that the Home+Contro-App does not allow me to add an AC control to the same room as a thermostat... is this still the case nowdays? (its 2025, this limitation sounds like its from 2008)?
Is there a decent way to use the target temperature set by the Smart Thermostat to control the AC units? like, if I set it to 21°C and the room temperature exceeds 23°C, just send the target temp (+Offset X, since the AC unit may stays in the warmer area close to the ceiling) to the AC and let it run until the room temp reaches (or surpasses) the target temperature.
If the App does not allow me to do so, is there another way? Thirdparty tools like IFTTT? Does this allow me to read the target temperature and trigger the Smart AC Control under certain conditions?
its like the opposite of this post - i want to merge heating and cooling to the same room:
