My Netatmo relay keeps disconnecting from my Wifi without changes made in my network
Last Saturday, the relay disconnected itself from my home network, and I haven't been able to reconnect it since. I initially thought it might be faulty, despite having bought it only three months ago, so I purchased another set of a relay and an intelligent thermostat.
However, the new set is also experiencing issues with the Wi-Fi configuration. The relay suddenly stops connecting without any changes being made to the Wi-Fi settings. During the configuration process, everything goes smoothly until we reach the point of connecting to the network. The process ends with a "Congratulations" message, but then the relay turns off, and a "Configure network" message appears in my app.
I have tried everything suggested on the Netatmo help website and have also submitted an incident ticket (#3282054), but I have yet to receive a response.
My network settings remain unchanged since Thursday, when everything was working properly:
- Security: WPA2-PSK
- Encryption: AES
- Channel: 11
- Signal Strength: Full (at the relay's location)
I have also tried:
- Using the app on Android (uninstalled and reinstalled)
- Rebooting the relay
Still, no connection.
What should I do? I need my heater to work!

Have you verified that your password is correct?
Yes, the password is correct and the wifi network is 2.4Ghz.
I do all the setup process but in the end it prompts the message "Netatmo realy is unreachable" and it's not disconnected as the light is on.
Same issue..regular disconnect. Reconnects aftwr 30 mins or so. Thinking of reverting to manual therm!
I have the same issue with the 300eos display… it losts and reconnects to WiFi every 30 min more or less… nothing is changed in my network, where more than 30 other devices working fine… only Netatmo products have this issue
I have two Netatmo modulating thermostats, and one is stable while the other loses its Wi-Fi signal every 20 minutes.
Nothing has changed in the network. Anyone have a suggestion?
I have exactly the same issue. No changes to my network settings except regular firmware upgrades.
I'm using mesh system TP-Link Deco, and what I noticed is that when only one access point is turned on the thermostat is working fine (usually), but once I turn on the second AP, the thermostat disconnects.
I was trying to reconfigure it multiple times, but it didn't help.
No issues with other in my network.
Adding word appand as suggested on Play Market.
What advice has the company provided?
Just started seeing this today. Been working reliably for years and I mean literally years. Relay is now continuously dropping connection to WiFi. It can connect - I can see it on the network and the router recognises it through DHCP. When it is connected I can ping it and it sometimes briefly shows up in the app. It is passing data. I know this because the temps from my rads are all showing up in the app and that’s only possible if data is passing through the relay. My guess is that it keeps rebooting.

I'm using mesh system TP-Link Deco, when the station does come on-line the signal strength is very good.
I have searched for firmware updates, but there are none.
I am experiencing the exact same issue. My Netatmo Relay setup works perfectly initially—I can see all data for the valves in the app. However, after about 10–20 minutes, the Relay consistently disconnects and reports as "unreachable."
This behavior only started about 3–4 months ago. Given that I haven't changed my local network configuration, it seems likely that a recent automatic firmware update has introduced a regression.
Is anyone else seeing specific firmware versions associated with this? Netatmo Support, we would appreciate some insight or a fix for this!
Netatmo support won't help here. They ignore this topic.
I was able to solve the issue by reconnecting the power wires. I twisted the wires again, and the relay started working without disconnecting. I suppose the issue was caused by poor contact between wires (maybe they oxidized).
That doesn't seem to be the case for my setup. My Relay is a standalone unit—it isn't physically wired to the boiler or a thermostat. It acts purely as a bridge for the valves. To clarify, the valves communicate with the Relay, which then connects to my Wi-Fi. Despite this 'wireless-only' configuration, I'm still seeing the same disconnects others are reporting.
I have two relays in the same wifi net. One is working fine,
but other has to be connected every day morning by reseting it. It then be stable about 5 hours then disconnect with message "unreachable". I would very much appreciable your response.
I have found that you need a very stable DHCP server, I moved from a carrier supplied router's DHCP to a cisco router and all my connectivity was sorted. Can't put my finger on why this is the case, however it might be a combination of Wifi delays/interferance and DHCP server responsiveness but this is worth considering
I have just started experiencing this problem - again after years of successful operation.
The only change has been that my internet provider (YouFibre) recently replaced my router. After this I reset the wifi SSID and password on the Relay and the Netatmo thermostat/relay started working again. However a few days later the relay began to report loss of connection.
If I go through the process for reconnection to new wifi network (even though the network is exactly the same) I can get it to work again but only for a day or so.
It's incredibly frustrating!
@djemwestern If you have the capabilities of setting up a DHCP server separate from you carrier provided router, see if that works. I am thinking the netamo device does not seem to like/wait for replies from certain servers. I can not prove this however when I moved from a carrier supplied router's DHCP to a cisco router and all my connectivity was sorted
Thanks for the speedy reply. Am I right that this means buying a second router and connecting this into the one provided by my internet provider via ethernet cable?
djemwestern Just to say I am nothing to do with Netamo (just the email address I use for them).
If you still have your old router, yes connect it by ethernet, bring up the DHCP server and make sure what it is serving as the default route is pointing to your new router and the correct DNS, disable the wifi, and disable the DHCP on the new router. Give it a go, nothing to loose. make sure you turn off the wireless on the old router as well.
OK. Sadly I gave them back the old router for recycling so I will need to buy another to try out what you're suggesting.
I assume the same fix couldn't be achieved using a range extender?
