2ND CAMERA FAILED TO PAIR

I see You

Having 1 camera was great, when I finally (after 3 painful days trying), got it connected. Then I admit the camera and functionality are great and I love it.

Now a year later I purchased my 2nd camera and I installed in 15 minutes and was ready, but the camera would not pair, so I ensured I was on the 2.4GHz like my first camera and still wouldn't. So I used the box it came in to scan the code, but that didn't work, then it said to manually enter the code on the card or box, which is impossible as it only allows numbers and the code is numbers and letters.

So I removed my App and started again, logging in, but now I'm told I'm not the administrator and to seek access via email from the the product owner.

This is the most difficult and time consuming process that fails on every attempt.

So rather than having 2 cameras working, I have non..

This is now very, very frustrating to a point of screaming!!

And I see this forums never gets the questions answers and seems to be as useless as the instructions.

This is a great pity as the camera is absolutely fantastic, when you ever get it working.

Would I recommend this product, yes, but an absolute no, if you have problems.

Please offer some help as this is driving me insane trying to get my original one working and access to the App that I'm the product owner and can't access.

Are you using a wifi extender? If so they recommend naming the SSID differently or using a mesh system instead

Have you tried factory reset in the new camera ?
( Need to make sure the QR code is well illuminated and correct distance away ) .

I had same issue after a power cut, I was unable to connect old camera , tried new SDcard change and deleted app etc etc

In the end my issues were resolved by switching main fuse board off for several minutes

Thanks pattie7459 (hmm, sounds like I'm talking to a robot), yes, it finally worked as it just wouldn't accept the code, then when it did the App said saving settings this could take a while, then timed out and failed. So after a few tries it actually saved the settings and I nervously accepted each page then was good to go.

That enables my first camera back online, yet it had never stopped working, it was the App I had to reinstall and when I did, then the App never remembered anything, so whilst the camera (the first one) was working and saving the recordings, I had zero control as the App wasn't talking to the camera.

So I had to reinstall the camera so I could get the App and the camera working in sync.

I'm just amazed that your online profile can not store App settings (unless I missed that), and you don't have to uninstall to reinstall the camera to the App.

I have no problems with the camera, it is fantastic, I love it, but the challenges with the App and syncing can be (and has been), an absolute nightmare. Let's hope tomorrow I can get the 2nd camera working..

Yes hope you manage to get your second one working .

I manage two netatmo floodlight cameras on my app - one at home and one at my mums place . The older one purchased in 2017 plays up a little usually after an electricity cut or an update . I thought it had died after a few weeks not recognising QR code etc etc , so I purchased another with a siren which was on offer , but before opening the box , the older one sprang into life !

Now I am dreading installing the new one after hearing what you are experiencing!

My new one has a siren and my dread is that it will start kicking off accidentally when there is a technical issue . I heard that the siren version doesn't work with the Homekit app ( reddit ) however I don't use it as I find it too confusing.
    Good Luck !
