If the message "Defective SD card" or "SD card absent" appears in the Home + Security app, it means that your camera is unable to detect or communicate properly with the microSD card.
Notes
- Access to the live feed of your Indoor Camera Advance from your app remains functional.
- You can also manually trigger your Siren or manually open and close your privacy shutter.
- However, video recording, event detection, and facial recognition require a functional microSD card and are temporarily suspended.
What to do to get a functional card?
First, start by checking that a microSD card is properly inserted under the camera head (Where is the SD card located on my Indoor Camera Advance?). If necessary, remove and reinsert the SD card, then restart the camera.
If the problem persists, you can use another SD card. However, make sure it is:
- at least class 10,
- with a storage capacity of 8, 16, or 32 GB,
- of the "Endurance" or "Industrial" type (supports numerous write cycles), specifically designed for use in surveillance cameras.
You can also purchase a new SD card of this type from our online store.
Why is my card defective?
A quality SD card is required to record videos when events occur. An old or defective SD card may not function properly.
In very busy areas, many events are detected (movements, people, etc.). Recording a large volume of videos can reduce the lifespan of the SD card. To adjust video recordings to your needs, go to the Home + Security app > Settings > Adjust security settings > [product category].
