When you install the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm or the Smart Smoke Alarm, a Bluetooth pairing is created between the product and your phone.
This means that only this phone can manage some actions, such as Wi-Fi configuration or the Sound Test.
You may lose the Bluetooth pairing in the following cases:
you log out of your Netatmo account in the app,
you uninstall the app,
you reset the alarm,
an unexpected issue occurs,
you change your phone.
If you sign in to your account on a new phone, you will still have access to your home and devices, but the Bluetooth pairing will remain linked to the previous phone.
If the Bluetooth pairing has been lost, you will need to reset the alarm and install it again.
If you use an iOS device
On iPhone and iPad, Apple requires HomeKit setup for the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm and the Smart Smoke Alarm.
In this case, the Bluetooth pairing is linked to your Apple Home, not to a single iPhone or iPad. This means that all iOS devices connected to the same Apple Home can perform the Wi-Fi configuration and the Sound Test.
If Bluetooth access has been lost
First, remove the device from the Home + Security app and from the Apple Home app if needed.
To remove the device from the Home + Security app:
Tap the gear icon in the bottom right corner.
Select Manage my Home.
Select your device.
Tap the icon in the top right corner.
Select Remove.
Then reset the alarm :
- Engage the Smoke Alarm on its wall mount
- Wait for a minute (the LED should blink red every 10sec)
- Remove the Smoke Alarm from the wall mount
- Long press on the CFG button at the back until the LED lights up in Blue
- You can then release the CFG button.
Then start the installation process again in the Home + Security app.
Please note: if your device requires a firmware update, the update may take several minutes.
