My Smart Home Weather Station does not appear on the Weathermap. What should I do?

To determine which Weather stations are most relevant to be displayed on Weathermap, we assign a grade to each Station.

This grade is calculated every two weeks according to a model developed by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute: we compare the temperature measured by the station with that of a certain number of other stations within a 40 km radius.

The station is filtered out if the measurement deviates too much from the average of the other stations.
This algorithm also takes into account differences in altitude when making comparisons.

To assign scores for the filtered out Stations, we compare their measurements with the different weather forecasts for the area.
After the algorithm calculates the scores for each Station, it selects the Stations displayed on the screens according to the selected zoom range.

If your Station is not displayed on the Weathermap, check:

  •  that your outdoor module is protected from rain (as well as any other source of moisture), wind, and direct sunlight to avoid false readings;
  • whether the location of your Station has been correctly recorded in the Weather app. If this is not the case, you can change it. To do this, you need to change the location of your virtual Home. Note that this will also change the location of other products that are in the same Home, such as that of the Netatmo Thermostat. To change the location of the Home, go to the "Settings" > "Manage my Home". Click on the 3 dots at the top right and open the "Location" page. Enter the desired address in the search field or move the pin and click "Confirm".

After a calibration, a new installation or moving a module, it takes up to two weeks until it is rated again and appears on the Weathermap.
