smart termostat regulating cool air
I have 2 smart thermostat. can i use them to regulate cool air during summer? if the temperature lowers the system shoud stop. when it rises it should start. opposit from heating. can it be done?

You can "invert" the Thermostat in the settings, meaning instead of NO (normally open) the contact will be NC (normally closed).
If your cooling system accepts a "dumb dry contact" thermostat, it should work in theory.
App will show "heating" tho when your cooling system is satisfied and you probably will get a very messed up energy report for never reaching your target 🤣
@GEORGzer Mmmm interesting approach. But since the heating PID algorithm is not intended for inverted use in cooling mode, probably the thermostat will be confused and will not work as intended. Also since the Autotune feature will be recalibrated for the “dummy” cooling mode then during the winter the kP, Ki and Kd parameters will need to be changed again. All in all it is a clever idea!

Edit: Inverted Polarity AND Hysteresis Heating Mode probably will do the job.
