Location of a Smart Smoke Alarm
Hi,
You recommend not installing a Smart Smoke Alarm in a garage. Is this because any exhaust fumes could falsely trigger alarms? Does this also apply if you have an electric car?

Hi,
It is possible to install the Smoke Detector in a garage, even if you have an electric car. As we mention on our website, these are simply recommendations and not a ban.
For safety reasons, the Smoke Detector Sensor must be particularly sensitive, which can occasionally result in false alarms. In order to avoid false alarms, the Intelligent Smoke Detector should not be placed in a location where it could be used to trigger an alarm:
* near an electronic ballast, low voltage transformer, energy saving light bulb, or fluorescent tube (minimum distance of 50 cm).
* close to an air vent
* in a room that's too dusty
* less than 6 m from a chimney or a wood stove
* in a room where cooking smoke and steam could set off the alarm.
* in a room where there may be condensation or moisture
Have a nice day 🙂
