Video unavailable. Insufficient power source

Followed all the instructions when this message appears, but the message still pops up. The camera/doorbell actually records video and recognizes people, but the message is really annoying. How do I get rid of the message???

The transformer is: https://ao.dk/cenica-ringetrafo-81224vac-1462008186

The Chime is: https://ao.dk/doerklokke-minibuzzer-d182-9590418200

I have checked voltage with the electrician who installed it and it receives full 24V from the transformer

8VA means this transformer will deliver 1 Ampere of power on 8V.
24V with 8VA actually reduces the Ampere to 0.33

You can check the math here:
    https://www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/va-to-amps-calculator.html

Try re-wiring the Doorbell to 8V, reset it and go through the setup again (necessary when changing voltage).

    I use a 8V 2A transformer for example, that‘s 16VA on 8V.

Hi - I just checked with the electrician who installed the system and he tells me that the transformer is set to 8V, not 24V, as I said earlier. The transformer is set to 8V because the chime is 8V. Could it be that there is too low Amps coming to the camera, which is causing the error message?

Sorry, since you wrote "it receives full 24V from the transformer" I thought you wired the transformer for 24V.

At 8V your current transformer provides 1A of power which is right on the edge for the Dorrbell, loss through the wires not calculated in.

I'd recommend getting a 8V 2A transformer and you should be good.

I can not recall the "Video unavailable" message but I did have issues when I had a 8VA transformer. My conclusion is that the doorbell and a chime need more than 8VA so I upgraded the transformer to 12V, 2A (24VA). That fixed the stability issue I faced with the doorbell. It introduced another issue though: the 500mA slow fuse that is supplied blew out regularly. I raised the issue with Netatmo support and they sent me a 1A slow fuse. This fixed the issue for me.

    Conclusions:

    • 8 VA is insufficient if you want to use the doorbell with a chime
    • It seems that the fuse that is needed in the doorbell should be "Rated current of the transformer"/2

    HTH.

My 8V 2A setup works fine with the OEM fuse so far for the past 2 years or so.

Thanks. So if I change the transformer to an 8V 2A one, what size slow fuse do I need? Sorry - my electrics are not good!

If your current fuse isn't broken, keep everything as is.

So I was finally able to change to an 8V 2A transformer and immediately the power was back on the app said the 'correct power adapter' was installed and 'monitoring resumed.' The electrician said this is the first time he's ever installed a 2A transformer, so he learned something today as well! Thanks for all your help everyone.
