Can we share feedback about a smart heating relay range extender not being available and no reaction from Netatmo instead?

    Ok, you asked for it!

I've got 8 or 9 years experience with the Netatmo relay, radiator valves and room thermostat.

    My sad conclusions:

    1. The range of the relay is insufficient even for my small two bedroom apartment. I had to pull an extensions chord to the middle of the apartment to make the system work more or less reliably.

    2. There is no repeater to remedy these range problems.

    3. I spend a small fortune on batteries every year (probably because of the weak signal, frequent failed calibrations etc).

    4. Low battery warnings (by e-mail, if any) come far too late. Sometimes after less than a day the batteries die.

    5. Lot's of calibration issues, which are sometimes automatically or easily solved, but sometimes, especially when batteries are less than 50% of full capacity, can only be solved by replacing batteries.

    6. After a couple of years, the e-ink displays on five out of my nine valves and of the room thermostat started to 'fade' and became unreadable. (Fortunately they were, out of warranty, replaced free of charge by customer support). After a year or so, a sixth display failed. I also had a complete failure of one of the valves, which I had to replace myself since it was out of warranty.

    7. The manual operation of the valve is not intuitive: especially people unfamiliar with the system try to turn the heating up by trying to rotate the valve, which of course is not possible.

    8. I never understood the programming options. I suppose there is some logic behind it, but it's just way too complicated. In my other house I opted for the (rechargeable!) Tado X system, which turend out te boe a lot simpler and more intuitive.

I sincerely regret the purchase of this system, which turned out to be rather unreliable and environmentally unfriendly because of the frequent battery replacements.
