A Smoke Detector really should go on the ceiling. So I guess double-sided-tape would be your alternative.
Same goes for your Carbon Monoxide Detector, you asked about in the other section.

I see there is a tape on the shell of my two products. Can I use this or another more strong adhesive is needed? Thanks
The tape needs to be suited for the type of ceiling material/coating you have.
In general I would recommend a foam backed tape to compensate uneven surfaces for maximum adhesion.
Ask a service person in a local hardware store for advice.
