Smart Radiator Valve unrelyable
Hi,
I have 18 Smart Radiator Valves and I try to use them a the house I buyed in France.
Now there are problems with valves who not open or not close...
Some times they work for a wile and then they request to calibrate. Sometimes this works some times it isn't. Then when I try again they start working again for a wile...
Problem, I can not rely on the system at all.
To solve the problem I would like to replace the old (water)valves as they are old most are from 1980... Al true they work with the old-fasion thermostatic valves heads.
Can you recommend some radiator valves highly compatible with Netatmo Smart Radiator Valves, Preferably a brand on witch Netatmo Smart Radiator Valves are fitting without adaptor.
All other solution propositions are welcome;
I did send this request already months ago (on the web), but never had a reply...

I'm a customer from the start of Netatmo, weather station, Camera's, Thermostats (3)and smart valves (18).
I must say that there was a time that Netatmo support was customer frendly...
Now at https://helpcenter.netatmo.com/hc/. you gat a bunch of questions not related to my problem.
I start to regret that I went for the Expensive Netatmo valve as I was happy with youer service.
And it is not helping to tel me that I did somting wrong to get support...

do not rely on the support from netatmo. The products are super unreliable and many customers are locked with netatmo thinking whether to throw it out of window and buy new system from different vendor or to try to fix it.
Mine got all unreadable after two years warranty ... something like within a month all 5 valves and 1 thermostat got faulty. OK... I could manage it from app at least.
Recently, after another years ... all of them are erroring out frequently - out of the battery (even when not in use durring summer), connected ON/OFF, calibration needed, etc.
One of the valve went completelly dead ... not even motor buzzing after changing battery.
This hack helped me today - just use aluminium foil which you have at home. Perhaps it will help you too.
It works now, the connection has full "strips", battery is full, and calibration wend completed in 10 seconds successfully

I am sure you have an e-ink display problem too (like all customers). Find it on internet, plenty of videos how to easily change. Order from alibaba.

Honestly, I'm happy with the weather station. From the 3 thermostats I have 2 are still fully functional and one has a screen problem and they are +/-10 years old.
The valves however are a BIG misery, I could not calibrate them as at the end of the calibration they always opened when not asking heat... Now before I calibrate, I make sure they are set at 30°, so yes they open, witch is normal at that setting then when I reduce the setting to a lower temp as the environment, they close and seem to work as should, for how long, only the firmware developer knows.
I have the impression that 90% of the problems are firmware/software, but surly 100% the fault and responsibility of the very unresponsive NETATMO!
At the moment I'm testing a midrange product of a brand I use for automation and so fare they are way superior for 1/3rd of the price.
If this really works, I will send back the 18 valves to Netatmo to the attention of the Managing director, with thanks for the misery...
Mine were working fine as far as regulating temperature properly across whole house, detecting open windows, calibrating and overall functioning. I liked the automation and hysteresis for each room so when I wanted to have 21 inside, then based on current temperature inside and outdoor temperature it started heating ahead of time to have desired temperature at exact minute. Pity they just did not pay attention to manufacturing quality and did not call-back faulty devices or arranged for local country service company equipped with simple steps and cheap spare parts to fix it quickly.
I am also looking for replacement either mid-range with good karma on the internet or EVE is another option. I already have EVE Aqua and I see their termostat is yet to come whilst the valves are available.
