Modulating smart thermostat compatible to a non modulation, non open therm gas heating boiler?

Dear all, I bought the modulating smart thermostat for my new gas heating boiler, but unfortunatelly the new boiler does not support Open therm and modulating. Do i have to replace the modulating smart thermostat with the smart thermostat, or can i use the modulating thermostat? Thank you

    The Netatmo Smart Modulating Thermostat will check OpenTherm compatibility and if your Boiler doesn't support that, it will work as a dry-contact thermostat, like the Netatmo Smart Thermostat.

    Thank you for your info, but unfortunately i sent back the modulating smart thermostat. If i had this information earlier, i would use the modulating device. So i will take the old smart thermostat to the new flat…
    Shall i replace my old smart thermostat? I guess its over 10 years in use.
    Wht do you think?
