indoor camera (Welcome) - alert zone Répondu
Is there technical restriction that prevents adding alert zone feature for indoor cameras? We have multiple Welcome cameras and few are detecting "unknown faces" from TV-s (or TV s reflection in mirrors, windows ...), so alerting is turned off when we are at home, but this settings effects all cameras. At least support alert settings can be set per camera.

Hello,
We appreciate your suggestion concerning setting the alert zones for the Indoor camera. I will pass your message on to the team concerned.
The camera is programmed to recognize faces, so if the camera is placed in front of a television, as soon as people appear on the screen, the camera will detect people because it unfortunately can't tell the difference between a real face and a screen displayed on a screen, a photo or a picture.
However, the television is normally turned on only when someone is at home, but you can manually turn off the monitoring before turning on the television and turn it back on when you stop watching TV, or you can adjust your notification and recording settings when you are at home.
To disable monitoring, please open your application, then press the icon in the upper right corner of your application. Then use the selector next to your camera name to turn monitoring on and off. This will avoid all false detections related to your television.
If you don't want to disable monitoring and want to have a more "automatic"system, you can disable notifications for unknown faces (however, faces will still be registered, which will require manual deletion).
You will also be able to disable video recordings and notifications for motion detection / pets.
To do this, please open the general settings using the icon in the upper left corner of your application. Then select your home and scroll down to the bottom of the page to open the "Security Settings".
I would recommend choosing "When nobody is home" for unknown face detections as well as motion detection.
Once this is done, you will have to pass in front of the Indoor camera so that it can recognize you. Once this is done, you will be considered home and the camera will no longer notify you for detections related to your television.
Have a nice day !
This can be considered as a workaroud, not a solution...
To have it working I need the camera to identify a family component every hour (and this does not happen regularly as we might just not enter the camera view for half a day...).
I would prefer to avoid adding duties for the notifications to be effective.
A masking option in the software would solve very easily...
I would very much like to see this feature added to the indoor camera too, not least because the recordings of people on the TV screen quickly fill up space on my connected FTP hard drive. I have previously disabled notifications when I'm home as per Giada's post above. If Netatmo copied the Alert-Zones feature from the outdoor camera or doorbell is would be perfect.
@STick220 I have been asking this feature long ago to NetAtmo and I wonder why they postpone such important introduction in their firmware. It would help the whole system being lighter instead of causing a lot of unuseful work. The suggested workaround are not very comfortable and they should understand it. But they probably have other products in their own homes... :-DDD
Hello,
As the topic is marked as answered, I don't know if I'll be read, but I wanted to share my own experience.
In short, I have exactly the same problem.
I've bought a second indoor cam to watch my garden doors which are at the opposite direction of the first cam. But unfortunaly my TV and my computer screen come in view.
And, as you, I don't want to disable face recognising when someone's in house, because I need to know who is inside (many in/out with kids).
Manually enable/disable all over the day, is not an option when you decided to buy so expensive devices which are specially designed to perform smart automation.
So we definitively need to have the zone feature on the indoor cam.
@furvan77 :-(
The ticket is marked as "answered", but not a SOLVED.
The problem is still there and I get daily notices from my wife which is almost tired to hear notifications every two seconds when a new face appears on the TV.
And I cannot have all Hollywood actors identified to prevent notifications !!!
So I think I'll soon remove the app from my wife's phone, opening the evaluation towards other solutions.
It's a pity, as we are not asking something so difficult: a masking window, the same way external cameras have, with inverse logic, would be enough...
But this was much more easy when NetAtmo was NetAtmo only... now it is Legrand, so I won't keep my breath until the solution will be applied.
I really hope sales will reflect the deficiency... but from my experience, such companies understand customers importance too late... (Nokia, Ericcson, etc, etc...).
Welcome in the unsatisfied customers club...
The proposed answer by Netatmo is frankly ridiculous.
Nearly all modern smart cameras (including budget ones) have a masking feature these days with some even having privacy masking.
I’m hugely invested in the Netatmo camera ecosystem but it’s concerning such a basic feature hasn’t been implemented since the camera was released in 2015. I’m unsure if it’s a hardware restriction or software issue but overall there has been a real lack of feature updates for the Welcome camera.
I have same TV problem.
I have the same problem. Even with home functionality it is very irritating with alerts from TV.
