Five different Netatmo valves broken at same time
After more or less six years using without problem. Suddenly, the five Netatmo valves used in my installations have failed at same time. Any explanation?

mine are also in the same state.
the displays of 3 of 4 radiator valves are broken and also the thermostat.
here the same problem - displays of my 2 eldest valves start to fail after 5 years - I fear it's the tech used that not withstands aging... The valves do appear to be still functional in the Energy app...
Hello @netatmo ?
Netatmo ignores the problem and offers a discount to buy new material when what he had to do is solve a problem that they have caused. I'm sure it's due to a firmware update that is incompatible with our faulty valves
It has nothing to do with the firmware. The display itself dies due to the age of the components used.
You could also call it opsolescence. Whether this is intentional or not remains to be seen.
In any case, a thermostatic valve should last longer than 4-5 years. As it is, it's just expensive scrap.
Irony: I chose the Netatmo valves because of the 'always on' displays...
At least the display doesn't consume any power (okay, it didn't before either) and you can still control the heating via the app..
Unfortunately, manual operation is clearly limited. I admit: it would be nicer with a display. :-)
Same issue here, 4 displays over 6 valves down at the same time, purchased in November 2018.
Has anyone tried DIY repair? on aliexpress the new display costs around 10€
Nice suggestion, just ordered 1 to try from AliExpres.
Youtube video explainer appears as do-able DIY (without any need for micro soldering :) )

Will keep you posted upon arrival and installation...
PS - if this works Netatmo could/should do this for their clients instead of offering discounts
display arrived, and installed. It wasn't 100% like in the explainer video above (found 2 extra screws to be losened, but worked out fine
another 5 years of operation added? :)
Good job, and thankyou for sharing!
Two out of three valve displays failed recently for me at around the five year mark. Not good from a Netatmo quality perspective.
Aliexpress replacement displays have brought them back to life.
.
And I will never buy thermostatic valves that are controlled by an application on the manufacturer's servers again! Netatmo has put me off it! I am changing the system after the heating season.
About the battery life: don't trust the empty indicator on the valve. If you use good quality batteries it's worth to check them again yourself, mine are usually still good enough for a second tour in the valve.
I guess it's more a sort of timer then a proper voltage check used in the valve.
I guess it can only be a firmware update issue. All 5 valves have failed displays, all failed at the same time. This is what would be a normal recall operation from a serious manufacturer.
Same here, all my valves(4) and the thermostat have failed the display. System was bought in 2019, a lot of money threw into the trash.
Also realized the graphs are showing wrong data :/
Same here.... half of my units, guess no recall? no discount on new products? no feedback from manufacturer?

Have a nice day.
Hi all, I believe it would be nice if Netatmo product manager steps out and tells us something about the display and what design life was actually intended in the project phase. And what if the display does not work anymore? Is china supposed to pull us all out from desperation? Is Aliexperess the only source of solution for guys back in Netatmo headquarters? Are you guys serious? I mean the product is not bottom-end priced either and the valves itself could have been much better rated if we had any king of support from your side. Please give us some response would you? Thank you in advance. See my pictures before they leave for greater audience in social media attention.
Most of my displays around 9 valves displays failed. One valve has died totally. Room stat display failed too. I see these valves are around £75 to replace. Bonkers for 5 years operation. No wonder they are not on the which magazine best buyer guide.
Amazing how affected users keep popping up, I guess they never fixed the underlying issue. Good luck to you all!
