I'm running Android and I can confirm v4.0.1.6 does NOT have a Smart Notification setting in
General menu > Alert & recording settings >
It is however UNSMART as the notification delays that were resolved earlier today are back again!!
Please just forget the update which, from my experience to date offers no significant improvements and roll back to a working version.

I am not able to confirm at the moment if the workaround works.
On another side: I created a support ticket for my cam missing events (a person walking up through the alert zone up to my entry door w/o my cam noticing it). This was 5 days ago. Until now I have no feedback from the support. Could someone take care of this? Thanks!
I have had this issue for some time. Today the notifications are 10 min delayed.
I did deactivate smart camera function and after it works fine, too!

Apparently, a bug concerning the "Smart Notifications" functionality is affecting the Android version of our Netatmo Home + Security app. Our engineers are already investigating.

Same here. Why did you fix something that wasn't broken? Everything worked great until the latest firmware was released. It ruined everything
Also getting this on iOS. Notifications are consistently 15 min late after the event.

Well after an half hour of searching, the so called ‘Smart Notifications’ seems well hidden. At least I wasn’t able to find it at all.
These notification issues makes the cameras totally useless.

Worked seamlessly for the last 3 years until recently when I don’t get alerts until maybe 15/30 mins after the event whereas before it was near instantaneous !
Have reset everything
Router / Camera to factory settings still no joy
Plus now am getting false alerts with no activity outside and alert error messages after an alert & with no video of people or vehicles
Why they taking so long to fix this??
Well, they’ve screwed it in a single update..
every serious company would fix it within a week or so a rollback.
I guess the testing procedures need some updates too….

Well I haven’t got any response from the Netatmo Support, and this is almost 2 weeks! Looks like the support is missing in action.
Now, when it is fixed? God damed!
My cam catches some events and notify me in couple of minutes! But it misses events too: these are in the timeline but no notification is sent for them.
Same thing at home, camera recordings up to date but notification almost 30 minutes late. Especially at the end of the day. Early in the morning it usually follows well. I suspect that their servers are overwhelmed with notifications.
For a product that claims to be "for your security", it borders on a toy gadget. Inadmissible! !
Disabling notification ?! Is it humor?
Same issue here … notifications are delayed 10-45 minutes … no change with „Smart-Notifications off“.
Would be really great if this could be fixed soon. Any latest update from Netatmo on this?

No "Smart Notifications" in latest Android version 4.0.2.9.
I had similar issue a week ago. My partner uses IOS device, switched smart notifications off on that device. I also changed notifications on my Android device to those that only pick up events and the issue seems to be resolved for me now.
The problem has been with me and friends for a while now. In all cases, the notification appears on iOS end devices. However, logging in and monitoring the camera directly via PC and web browser showed the same delayed behavior. So it's not a problem with the iOS app, rather it seems to be on the server side - resource bottleneck?
A camera with or without analysis should at least report the identified event within seconds. Please fix this immediately. Thank you very much.
Still an issue… 8-10min delay on notifications… useless at this moment for all notifications…
I don't know if the "Smart Notifications" were active before the major update. I have now deactivated them and receive notifications within seconds again. The camera is still smart in the sense of identifying people, cars and animals. I can't find any difference to the active "Smart Notifications".
You're lucky, my Android app (latest version) still doesn't offer the option to turn it on or off.
The deafening silence from Customer Support is a disgrace!

And it is delayed again since some days. What the f* is this!?!
