My first screen did this after ~3 years ... if the replacement thermostat will do the same thing is ~3y period I'll still believe it's a coincidence, but if the thermostat which my brother in law purchased will fail the same way then it won't be a coincidence but just putting poor quality parts into quite expensive devices and a red flag for next purchases...

I have the same issue. The unit was bought in 2018 and I no longer have any invoice.
Can these be repaired or is it a case of buying another one?

I watched how to replace the part on YouTube, it wasn’t too difficult and I now have a fully functioning thermostat.
I wouldn’t want to recommend a supplier, but the part was easily sourced.

I have heard of so many people's displays failing recently, surely that isn't a coincidence!

No, I dont think it is a coincidence!
You can order one from Alixpress. It's dead easy to install and costs about £10 but I think a firmware update or something might be causing the issues.

This is what I ordered for my model, you have to open the back to confirm the part number is the same.
This is not coincidence. ALL of my displays are failing. Off course they are all out of warranty too. I was offered a replacement valve at a discounted price, but this is not an acceptable solution. On top of this Im also weekly replacing all my batteries. I will never by any Netatmo product ever again. Total rip off.

I don't have such problems with the batteries. But I've ordered (free of charge - if it's not for you then contact support) contact stickers for my valves + I use lithium batteries (Energizer Ultimate Lithium) which are able to longer maintain the peak power.
Display screen on thermostat is unreadable, do I need to replace the whole system?

Hello I have the same problem with my 2 thermostats displays are unreadable. I would expect a support from NETATMO replacing them.

This is quite disgraceful. If you make products with a short life, you should at least replace them not force us to buy the whole pack with wiring and relay!!! So arrogant. So very French.
