The LED is not glowing: how to reset your Outdoor Camera

Outdoor Camera Original (2026)

Resetting your Outdoor Camera Original can be useful in several cases: Wi-Fi network change, connection problem, change of owner, or unexpected product behavior.

This article explains when and how to safely reset your camera.

Before you start

  • A factory reset permanently removes the camera from your Netatmo account
  • After the procedure, the camera will need to be fully reconfigured in the application
  • Make sure the camera is properly powered

For security reasons, the reset cannot be triggered at any time: the reset button is only active during the 15 minutes following the last electrical restart of the camera. This prevents unauthorized tampering.

Where is the reset button?

The reset button is located behind the grid under the product.

Available actions from the reset button

Depending on how long you press the button, three different actions are possible:

Short press (less than 5 seconds)

  • Steady white LED
  • Restarts Wi-Fi pairing
  • Use this in case of network connection issues

Medium press (between 5 and 10 seconds)

  • Steady blue LED
  • Resets Apple Home pairing
  • The camera remains associated with your Netatmo account

Long press (more than 10 seconds)

  • Steady red LED
  • Factory reset
  • The camera is restored to its original state and removed from your Netatmo account

Notes

  1. Resetting your Camera is useless when:
    1. Having disconnection issues.
    2. Having trouble watching videos.
    3. Having trouble receiving notifications.
  2. Reset is relevant only when:
    1. You give/sell your Netatmo Camera.
    2. You want to erase the HomeKit configuration.
  3. The factory reset deletes all the data and configuration of your Camera, including the SD card, which is formatted.

Steps

You can reset your Smart Outdoor Camera to factory settings with the Factory Reset QR code. You can generate it from the advanced settings screen of your Camera in the Home + Security app.

Show the code to your Camera and it will make five fast blinks twice to indicate that it will reset. Leave it powered until the floodlight starts blinking slowly again (it can take up to 2 minutes).
