That is something that is quiet hard to evaluate from a distance. Maybe contact the company that set up your new boiler, I‘m sure they can answer you that question.

I see, then I‘m afraid you‘re correct and hooking them up to the Modulating Thermostat won‘t work. Maybe your new boiler actually has terminals for external pumps, some do.

How are the pumps wires connected to your current system right now? Are they wired to the boiler or directly to the old thermostat?

If it shows up as a sensor then you can configure „activity-notifications“ in Homekit. But not much more you can do there.

Black/Grey never carry any current. Those two only get bridged together internally when the Relais switches on (analog installment). And they are also for data communication (OpenTherm).
