Why does my floodlight switch ON or OFF automatically?

If your floodlight switches on even though you did not change its status, this may be caused by an automation set in Apple Home, Google Home, or Amazon Alexa.

If your camera is configured with HomeKit

First, check whether an automation is enabled in the Apple Home app.

If an automation turns the floodlight on when motion is detected, the floodlight may switch to On mode instead of Auto mode in the Home + Security app. In this case, it may remain on continuously.

To solve this issue, disable the automation or remove the camera from the Apple Home app if you do not use it.

To delete a Home automation:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Tap Automation.

  3. Swipe left on the automation you want to delete.

  4. Tap Delete.

If your camera is not configured with HomeKit, or if the issue persists

Google Home and Amazon Alexa do not support the Auto mode for the floodlight.

For example, if you ask Alexa to turn the lights off and your camera is linked to your Alexa account, the floodlight may switch to Off mode in the Home + Security app instead of returning to Auto mode.

If this happens, set the floodlight back to Auto mode in the Home + Security app and disable or remove the Legrand-Netatmo-Bticino integration from Google Home and/or Amazon Alexa.

To remove the service from Google Home:

  1. Open the Google Home app.

  2. Tap Devices.

  3. Select one of your Netatmo devices.

  4. Select Unlink Legrand-Netatmo-Bticino.

To disable the skill in Alexa:

  1. Open the Alexa app.

  2. Tap More and select Skills & Games.

  3. Search for the Legrand-Netatmo-Bticino skill.

  4. Select Disable Skill.
