What does the colored status LED on my Outdoor Camera indicate?

Outdoor Camera Original (2026)

The LED to the right of the lens indicates the camera status by its color.

Note: If you wish to disable the status LED, you can do so in the advanced settings of your camera by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > Manage my home
  2. Select the room where your camera is located
  3. Select your camera
  4. Go to Settings
  5. Disable the toggle next to LED status indicator

Green

  • Steady / Slow blinking - The camera is starting up (initial boot phase).
  • Fast blinking - The camera is performing a factory reset.

Note: If the LED stays green for more than 5 minutes and the camera does not respond in the Home + Security app, it means an error has occurred. Please restart the camera by unplugging and plugging it back in. If the issue persists, please contact the Netatmo support team.

Red

MONITORING

  • Steady - Camera monitoring is enabled. The live stream is available and videos can be recorded.

RESET

  • Steady - After a long press on the reset button, the camera will perform a factory reset.

Blue

SETUP

  • Slow blinking - The camera has started Netatmo pairing mode with the Home + Security app but is not yet paired.

MONITORING

  • Steady - The camera is configured in the Apple Home app. Videos cannot be recorded, but the live stream is still available via the Apple Home app.

Note: If someone is watching the live stream from the Apple Home app, monitoring will activate and remain active as long as someone is watching. If no one is watching, monitoring will deactivate.

White

SETUP

  • Slow blinking - The camera has started Wi-Fi pairing mode but is not yet paired.
  • Fast blinking - A product identification request was made from the Apple Home app.

RESET

  • Steady - Quick reset: the reset button was pressed for less than 5 seconds and the Wi-Fi configuration restarts.

Orange

RESET

  • Steady - Intermediate reset: the reset button was pressed between 5 and 10 seconds and a HomeKit reset is in progress.

ERRORS

  • Slow blinking - A hardware problem has been detected, please contact the Netatmo support team.
  • Fast blinking - Netatmo or Wi-Fi pairing has failed. Please refer to this article: Advanced network troubleshooting guide., and try pairing your camera again. If it still does not work, please contact the Netatmo support team.

Pink

  • Steady - The camera has started updating its firmware.
  • Fast blinking - The camera is updating its firmware.

Smart Outdoor Camera (2015)

This product does not have a front-facing LED indicator. For more information about the status of your product, please check your Home+Security app.
