Which adaptor should I use to install my Smart Radiator Valve?

To check the compatibility of your radiator, first go to our online compatibility tool.

If you did not find your thermostatic head model in our tool, follow these steps to determine which adaptor to use:

1. Unscrew or unclip your existing thermostatic head.

If necessary, you can use pliers.
NB: there is no risk of leakage.

2. Measure the diameter of the valve body.

Take a precise measuring instrument (ruler, meter or caliper), and then measure the diameter of your valve body where the thermostatic head is screwed or clipped.

3. Measure the screw thread if there is one.

The thread is the distance that a screw makes when it makes a full turn, expressed in millimeters. This therefore corresponds to the distance measured between each thread. For example, a "thread of 1.5" means that the distance between the threads is 1.5 mm.

The thread can be measured with a simple ruler: if the distance between 3 ridges is equal to 3 mm, then it is a step of 1.5 mm.

4. Find your valve body in the list of compatible models.

Visually compare your valve body and the dimensions you have measured with those in the list below, and find the corresponding adaptor.

Valve body whose adaptors are supplied with each Smart Thermostat:

  • M30x1.5 :
  • M28x1.5 :
  • M30x1 :
  • Giacomini :
  • Danfoss RA23 :

Valve bodies with optional adaptors, available on our online shop:

  • M28x1 :
  • Caleffi :
  • Danfoss RAV34 :

If none of the valve bodies shown above match yours, your installation is not compatible. We recommend that you call a heating professional to replace it with one of the models listed above.

If you cannot determine with certainty the compatibility of your installation, send us a message using the form below, attaching photos of your valve body in close-ups and specifying the dimensions you would have measured.
