To calibrate the Rain Gauge, open the Netatmo Weather or Home + Control mobile app on your smartphone:
- On the main screen, select the home/Station linked to the module you want to calibrate.
- Go to the app’s Settings menu at the top left.
- Follow the path: “Manage my home” > [room where the Rain Gauge is located] or “Unassigned products” > [name of the Rain Gauge to calibrate] > Settings / Rain > follow the on-screen instructions.
Methodology:
- Slowly pour 100 ml of water and count the number of “clicks” of the tipping buckets.
- For greater accuracy, repeat this calibration 3 times and take the average.
- Divide 100 by this result; this gives the number to be used for calibration.
Example: if your 3 measurements give 78, 80, and 82 clicks, the average is 80.
100 / 80 = 1.25.
So 1.25 is the calibration value.
If the calibration is correct, for 100 ml of poured water, the Rain Gauge should measure around 8 mm of precipitation.
Note: The default (factory) value is 1.2594 ml.
