After completing the installation, you will be guided through the app to pair your Smart Controller with your air conditioner.
The Smart AC Controller will automatically detect the model of your air conditioner using the orders received when the app asks you to press your AC remote’s buttons.
You will then be able to control your air conditioner from the Home + Control app. The controls displayed in the app are tailored to the ones available on your AC model.
If your remote control is not automatically recognised, the Smart AC Controller will learn the model of your AC through the advanced configuration.
Some tips for automatic detection
- Wait for the "beep" between each button press. This means that the Smart Controller has received the order from your remote
- Make sure that the batteries of the remote control are full
- Make sure the remote control is ON
- Deactivate all special modes beforehand and set the remote to a basic configuration (e.g., Cooling, 28°C, Fan speed 3)
- Stay within 1m of the product and point your remote at the Smart Controller when pressing the button
- Press the main buttons of your remote, avoiding special modes, until it is recognised, e.g., Turn ON, Increase temperature, Decrease fan speed, Activate swing.
My remote control has been recognised but doesn't turn ON/OFF my AC. What should I do?
During the configuration process, it is possible that more than one remote is found.
If this is the case, you will be able to test these new configurations by clicking on "Nothing happens?" on the test screens during configuration. If none of the configurations can control your AC, you will be guided to complete the advanced configuration process.
The advanced configuration process can also be accessed from the settings in the Home + Control app: Menu > Manage my home > Room selection > Smart AC Controller > Advanced configuration of your remote
My remote control is recognised. ON/OFF works but some options do not work or are not displayed
The recognised remote control may be very similar to yours, for example it may be of the same brand and model. If the options displayed in the app don’t match the options on your remote control, launch the advanced configuration from the product settings: Menu -> Manage my home -> Room selection -> Smart AC Controller -> Advanced remote control configuration.
Some tips for the Advanced Configuration
- Make sure the remote control's batteries are full
- Make sure the remote control is ON
- Deactivate all special modes beforehand and set the remote to a basic configuration (e.g., Cooling, 28°C, Fan speed 3).
- Move away from any other products that use infrared (TV remote control, motion detector in lights etc.). During this step, the Smart Controller will pick up infrared orders from your remote but may also pick up orders from other products around it. This may cause interferences and lead to an error.
- -Make sure your smartphone is not too close to your product. Facial recognition in most smartphones can cause interferences.
- Stay within 1 metre of the product and point your remote control at the Smart Controller when pressing the buttons.
- Wait for the "beep" between each button press. This means that the Smart Controller has received the order from the remote control
- If in doubt, it is better to go back and repeat the step.
- If you are already in the requested state, you do not necessarily need to change state to return to it
The configuration failed. What should I do?
If the configuration failed, please restart the installation process by following the above recommendations.
If it fails multiple times, your air conditioner could be using a language that is different from the typical languages. This doesn't mean that your equipment is not compatible.
If the error persists, please send us photos of your remote control (front and back), specifying the brand and the exact reference of your remote.
