How does the Thermostat display the temperature measured?

From 3 December 2024, a Thermostat update (v79) has been rolled out, making changes to the way the room temperature is displayed on the screen.

What's staying the same?

  • Your Thermostat still measures the ambient temperature with an accuracy of 0.1°C.
  • Heating regulation still works based on this precise 0.1°C measurement.
  • The Netatmo app still displays the ambient temperature to the nearest 0.1°C.
  • All other settings and functionalities remain unchanged.

What's changing?

Before this update, the Thermostat displayed the ambient temperature with an accuracy of 0.1°C.
After this update, the temperature is now displayed to the nearest 0.5°C on the Thermostat’s screen.
This change is to help extend the lifespan of your Thermostat.

Note: You may notice a slight difference between the temperature shown on the Thermostat’s screen and the one shown in the app.

Rounding logic:

The Thermostat measures the temperature to the nearest 0.1°C but rounds to the nearest on the screen.

Examples:

  • If the temperature measured is between 19.8°C and 20.2°C, then the Thermostat displays 20.0.
  • If it is between 19.3°C and 19.7°C, then the Thermostat displays 19.5.
