How do I change the batteries?
The Thermostat is designed to be powered by three brand-new, good-quality, unexpired AA alkaline (1.5V) batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended as their voltage is not sufficient to properly power the Thermostat. For better performance, it is also possible to use non-rechargeable (1.5V) lithium batteries.
Steps to replace the batteries
Remove the rear cover to access the battery compartment.
Remove the old batteries and make sure to recycle them.
Insert the new batteries into the Thermostat, respecting the polarity.
The Thermostat will display a short “Hi!” animation, then show the ambient temperature on the screen.
Low battery level
When the batteries are nearly empty:
The Thermostat continues to function normally.
A battery icon turns red on the Thermostat screen next to the temperature.
An error message will also appear in the Netatmo app.
It is recommended to replace the batteries within one month to maintain all features.
Empty batteries
When the batteries are empty:
The Thermostat can no longer be controlled (neither via the app nor manually).
It will not be possible to adjust the temperature or turn the boiler on.
Before shutting down, the Thermostat automatically turns off the boiler to avoid overheating.
An error message will appear in the Netatmo app.
Replace the batteries as soon as possible to restore full functionality.
