How does the acoustic comfort measurement work?

The acoustic comfort is measured by the Indoor Module of the Station.
In the app, on the dashboard you can see the sound level and the acoustic comfort measurement.

How does the Netatmo Station measure acoustic comfort?

The Netatmo Station records the average sound level (in dB) over a 5-minute period and thus measures the acoustic comfort: quiet/55/lively/85/noisy.

Did you know?

  • The human ear cannot generally distinguish sounds under 30 dB.
  • Prolonged exposure to sounds above 65 dB reduces your concentration.
  • In many countries, continuous exposure to a sound source during a day of work is limited to 85 dB.
  • Above 95 dB, sounds can be dangerous for your hearing over prolonged periods of exposure.
